Paisij Hilendarsky-the Bulgarian Imagened Community during the Time of one Predecessor in 18th century

Summary/Abstract: The author deals with some aspects of the processes which brought to the creation of modern nations in South-East Europe and the relations between them. The research is directed to Paisij Hilendarsky – a key figure of the Bulgarian history in the period just before the Modern times. The analysis concerns the way Paisij interpreted the Bulgarian history in „History Slav-Bulgarian”. The basic elements which specify his mental maping of the Bulgarians as a historical and cultural society are outlined: the historicity of the nation, Slav nature of the Bulgarians, language and religion.
