Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the lifework of Diko Iliev. Biographical data about the composer (1898-1984) are given in detail. His work was mostly influenced by folklore and the music for wind orchestras. He composed chiefly works for wind orchestras, horo dances, suites, marches and a small number of works for jazz band. The horo dances composed for a wind orchestra present the most significant part of his work. Their fine melodies and their closeness to the spirit of folklore make them works of an everlasting character.
