BALKAN MEDICAL COOPERATION AT THE BEGINNING OF XXI CENTURY

Summary/Abstract: The transition from dictatorship to democracy in Eastern Europe in recent decades has given a unique and very specifi c aspect to Balkan historical processes, has determined the kaleidoscope nature and the irregular alternation of the ups and downs, of lights and shadows in the history of Balkan medicine. At the end of last century and the beginning of this one we have been in need for organizations that are able to focus and analyze the Balkan cooperation in the fi eld of medicine and healthcare.
