Summary/Abstract: The article provides an overview of the evidence that enables us to associate Kedipiv with Keava hill fort; Kedipiv is described in East Slavonic (Kievan Rus’) chronicles under the year 1054 as a fort taken during the campaign of Izjaslav, Grand Prince of Kiev. Also, the article analyses other reports about Estonia in East Slavonic chronicles in 1030–1061 and compares them with the data gathered during archaeological excavations.
