CLERICS’ CONTRIBUTION IN THE ALBANIAN DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE IN 1912

Summary/Abstract: Although much has been written about the uprisings of 1912 and the Declaration of Independence of Albania on the 28th November 1912, and the role of many personalities in this major event of the Albanian nation, the role of the clergy, even though it was very significant, there has not been dedicated any serious study. It should be also emphasized the phenomenon of religious tolerance, which for the solution of the Albanian National Movement purposes, gained the status of the most powerful potential for social progress of the country. This phenomenon became the key to the solutions of the time.
