Summary/Abstract: Until this war in Bosnia I had never before been aware of how much good was brought to me, in the cognitive sense, by the fact that I was born on the border with another country. My birthplace, Gola, is situated on the very border, so that the gardens of last homes, next to the banks of driedup creek Zdalica, metaphorically touch the borderline, since it runs there in the very middle of the creek bed, in the neighborhood of an international borderline crossing from Republic Croatia to Hungary.
