Summary/Abstract: The names of orthodox monasteries are part of national culture, because they are shaped not only by the religious ideas of monks, but also reflect the perception of the surrounding population. In addition, the names of the monasteries affected the perception of the people of Christianity, the history of the state, adopted by the relationship in the “statechurch- people”, the role of monasteries in the national culture.
