Summary/Abstract: An important component of Chinese musical art is the fact that folk musicians have great artistic talents and that they are familiar with different ancient playing techniques. Most classic music pieces from China, written for traditional Chinese instruments, originate from the period at the end of the Ming dynasty and the beginning of the Qing dynasty. Wind and percussion instrument music is one of the most common forms of Chinese music.
