Hispanic literatures in Serbia

Summary/Abstract: This work analyses the history of Hispanism in Serbia and the presence of Hispanic literature in its academic and cultural environment. After pointing out the works of investigation that have studied this subject, the studies of professor Ljiljana Pavlovic Samurovic that partly analysed the first contacts of the Spanish culture with the Serbian one and the presence of Cervantes in Serbia, afterwards the valuable work of professor Jasna Stojanovic on the reception of Cervantes’work in Serbia and the thesis of professor Vesna Dickov, an extensive and meticulous investigation on the reception of Latin-American literature in Serbia, we will make reference to the fi rst translations of works written by Spanish authors that appeared in Serbia.
