Summary/Abstract: The discussion started precisely from this administrative pressure placed on historians, editorial boards, research groups and university departments in Romania. Despite its negative aspects, the pressure under discussion forces historians to ask themselves uncomfortable questions related to the global visibility of their own results and of Romanian historiography in its entirety. A collateral aspect that historians must always take into consideration refers to the visibility of their research topic – for example national history or the history of certain historical provinces – at regional, European, and global level.
