Summary/Abstract: One of the most important political actors in 16th century Livonia was archbishop Wilhelm of Riga, who was in 1540s and 1550s quite concerned with the "Russian threat" (the term which had become relevant since 1470s). His confrontation in this question with Teutonic Order in Livonia was one of the main causes, which led to Livonia's last internal conflict, the Coadjutor's Feud.
