Summary/Abstract: The essay is portrait of a forgotten Hungarian writer, Nándor Ujhelyi. He started his career as a promising talent, beeing an author of Nyugat, the leading review of modern Hungarian literature in the early 20th century, and was an interesting, eccentric personality. Later he became more and more of a commercial writer of erotic, even pornographic novels, was to be imprisoned (the charge brought up against him was outrage upon decency) but emigrated in 1925.
