Summary/Abstract: In a global economy, one of the main goals of a global strategy is to promote the improvement of working conditions, taking in consideration that human capital is a diamond asset. Due to this fact, occupational health and safety management is intended to provide companies with proper managerial means for an effective anticipation of hazardous work situation and prevention of injuries and illnesses and to eliminate or minimize risk to personnel or other parties who might be exposed to hazards. An effective risk assessment, followed by an efficient management prevention program can be done only by an occupational health and safety AUDIT. The main objective of this type of audit is to evaluate basic levels of health protection at all workplaces, in order to decrease inequalities in workers’ health between and within countries and strengthen the promotion of health at work.
