CONSIDERATIONS ON THE IMPACT OF ICTS ON THE LOCATION AND STRUCTURE OF TWO BUSINESS SERVICES COMPANIES

Summary/Abstract: The structure and location of firms in today’s world is influenced by, amongst other factors, information and communication technologies (ICTs) such as the Internet, Voice-over-Ip telephony and others. We have presented the general conditions of the “New Economy” and its transformations which have permitted for new flexible-location strategies in deciding on the structure and location of a company. The last part of this article presents two translation companies and the way in which their use of ICTs facilitated flexible location strategies. Among the conclusions, we have highlighted the need for more investment in ICT on a micro-macro economic level.
