JAN JÓZEF SZCZEPAŃSKI'S TREATY ON ART

Summary/Abstract: The article describes Jan Józef Szczepański’s standpoint towards the question of art. The text is a reconstruction of the theory of art written by the author of “The Reef” in the works: “The Shovel of an Archeologist” and “The Bishop Goes over the Sea”. In these essays Szczepański presents his own critics of commercial totalitarian art. Simultaneously he writes his personal, invented for his own needs, normative theory of creation in them.
