Digitalisation – information echo – reception of a digitalised work

Summary/Abstract: The article addresses the problem of the influence of the Internet culture onto the reception of texts made accessible in a digital form. It offers a definition of the information echo which describes the mechanism of the reception of the literary work on the web. The influence of hypermediality on the new form of readerly participation and his/her new position vis-a-vis intertextuality. The article presents the question of benefits and dangers of digitalisation, the necessity to follow the rules of using the digital resources as well as computer systems making use of technological developments for the work of literary scholars, filologists, and editors. Finally, the author presents the Digital Repository of Academic Institutes as an example of a digital library. The article is based on traditional textual studies and electronic editing as well as on the concepts of the following theoreticians: Jurij Łotman, Gérard Genette, Roland Barthes.
