Summary/Abstract: The article emphasizes the evolution of Social Democrat Party’s votes in the two European Parliament election rounds held in Romania (November 2007 and June 2009). After loosing the first place in the romanian political arena in 2007, the Social Democrat Party recovered lost votes and regained the first place starting with parliamentary elections in November 2008. The new European Parliament elections held in June 2009 confirmed the hierarchy from previous elections. The results and percentages obtained by Social Democrat Party in european elections are analysed comparatively and on a regional basis with the results and percentages obtained in the local and parliamentary national elections. Moreover, we shall discuss if and how this results will affect the presidential campaign in November/December 2009.
