Summary/Abstract: The article shows the difficult and contradictory personal and social life of Radka Daneva. As Dr. Stoyan Danev’s, a well-known politician, spouse she gradually enters the social life, becomes a member of the board of managers of various charity organizations: against tuberculosis, “The Bulgarian Red Cross”, “Mother”, “Zdravetz” and etc. During the Balkan Wars (1912-1913) she is a devoted Samaritan in a hospital close to the fighting line. In 1920 R. Daneva takes control over the “Evdokia Society” and maintains a nursery school and dedicates 15 years of her life to orphans, abandoned babies and children with very poor parents and their bringing up. And even if in the beginning she thinks that charity is a part of her social duties with the course of time she proves to be very humane and gratuitous activator in this harsh sphere. The author hopes that this article will give more information about the families of Todor Burmov and Stoyan Danev and also about the lives of the wives of the politicians, who are a motive power for them or succeeded to open locked doors.
