About Police Department's provocation (from the investigation records of Socialist Revolutionary Party's military organization member I. P. Kalyaev 19

Summary/Abstract: Considered a well-known story about the visit of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna in jail for the Socialist-terrorist Ivan Kaliayev February 7, 1905. To complete the picture of this event, we study the unpublished archival sources, witnesses, their comparison and analysis. The author proves that, contrary to popular belief about the sincerity and selfless Grand Princess, the visit was a provocation, the Police Department, in order to discredit the artist attempted to run rumors, and their source was the Grand Duchess herself and her surroundings. The material in this work can be used to write articles on the history of the twentieth century Russia and further study of the topic.
