Summary/Abstract: On the basis of the toponyms included in the works of historians, the article presents the issue of vine-growing in Poland. The first mention of vine-growing in this territory comes from the year 1136. Unfavourable climatic conditions restricted the possibility of vine growing development and gradually lead to its end.
