Summary/Abstract: Occupational stress represents a significant hazard in the military occupation, negatively affecting effective performance of military duties. Dysfunctions of the stress system have an important organisational and individual impact, concerning health on both short and long term and negatively influencing military operations in time of both war and peace. The best preventive interventions must be made before the units are involved in high-stress, and high-risk action. The prospective clinical study presented in the article was done during an occupational medical routine evaluation and the significant percentage of cardiostressors (61.29%) almost identical to the one found in literature studies rises a concern about the necessity of implementing an efficient management program of occupational stress in the military.
