Summary/Abstract: Wether the historian dispute in Germany of the eightys or current transatlantic tensions and their judgement - naming the problems of the contemporary history is very difficult and besides prevented by an ideologic view./by ideologic walls. The autor uses actual points of view (Martin Altmeyer, Dagmar Barnouw) as well as older points of view (Arnold Toynbee, Martin Broszat) to develop his own terms for history- position finding. With the term "imperial civilization" he tries to transform a traditional history conception like the materalistic one into a perspective of a history of civilization.
