Summary/Abstract: On 1st May 2004 the Czech Republic became part of the EU development cooperation system. The Czech Republic pledged to adopt and apply EC primary legislation in the field of development cooperation as of the date of its entry, without exceptions or transitional periods. The country also adopted EC secondary legislation that regulates the financing and provision of development cooperation. The article analyses the possibilities of Czech non-governmental development organizations’ (NGDOs) participation in EU development cooperation. It explores the two main forms of participation: the formulation and the implementation of EU development cooperation.
