Summary/Abstract: The paper presents a brief description of intelligence process’ evolution and the role of image processing in this framework. Using this background, an information enhancement algorithm for satellite images will be presented here. Nowadays, on the modern battlefield, satellite image analysis becomes a very important part of the intelligence process. The acquisition systems from satellites and surveillance planes provide a huge amount of data and owing to this thing, the development of the new tools for automatic data processing becomes a necessity.
