Summary/Abstract: Aldous Huxley used the names of characters in "Brave New World" (1932) to convey subtle symbolic messages. Today, seventy-three years after he wrote it, many of the names no longer are familiar to readers. We identify the referents for all the names in the novel and analyze their subtle signifiance to the story.
