Summary/Abstract: The paper renders tha author's interview with Joy Harjo focusing on the strategies the latter uses to construct a discourse of reconciliation between Native Americans and European Americans. Harjo employs symbols, metaphors and connotation; associates hate with the cold season and love with spring and summer; and uses words from the context of war and peace, in order to create a new language of forgiveness.
