Summary/Abstract: The text is part of a larger study on actor’s art in Bulgaria after World War II. The main object of examination is the Method for actor’s training, approved after the Fifth Bulgarian Communist Party Congress (December 1948). Imported in Bulgaria from the Soviet Union, it was gradually forged on the basis of deformation of the so-called “Stanislavki’s system” and its adaptation to the doctrine of the socialist realism. As a concrete empirical material for analysis are used texts, written by the Russian director himself, as well as documents, articles and discussions of the 1950s about Stanislavski’s system and its application in the Bulgarian theatre. The main focus is on the processes of fetishisation of the Method in Socialist Era socialism and their rethinking from a contemporary perspective.
