Summary/Abstract: In recent years, the fact that Turkish Foreign Policy turns to Middle East perspective by assuming a more active role in the Middle East, which means moving away from the West gradually has become an accepted argument in the literature on international relations. With a vision of economic interdependence, of an intense diplomatic traffic, of security problems, which are jointly to be solved, and of planning to turn the threats into oppurtunities, Turkey has been actively involved in Iran nuclear crisis. Contrary to the tendency of Western Powers for sanctions, Turkish decision-makers have adopted a softer style against the Iranian government's nuclear policy. Considering these facts, this study tries to provide meaningful descriptions of the policies carried out by Turkey about the Iranian nuclear program until the Missile Shield Project, which was accepted at 2010 NATO Lisbon Summit. In addition, Turkey’s threat perceptions resulting from the Iran’s nuclear program are examined with their varying dimensions. In conclusion, this study tries to make assessments about the future by using the lessons from the past and within the framework of the regional and global effect of Iran's nuclear program and of Turkey’s approach towards this problem.
