Summary/Abstract: Lasting several years, a presence of Museum of Herzegovina Mostar was being through its departments and designes on Stari most, a monument protected by UNESCO, bemused us to accept a special Museum department – the first of that type at us – Museum Interpretation Centre within our institution. We'd like to establish a place for interpretation and understanding of the regions as a possible outset for visiting the cultural and sights of nature of Mostar and Herzegovina. A role of the exhibit items would be to strengthen by its symbolic value and support story about this region. Museum will introduce a visitor in the world of cognition experience and contact. Man and his relation to these elements will be a heart of narration. Narrator will be the river Neretva which flowing through countryside and towns, means history and present time of Mostar and Herzegovina with its stream. Usage of new technology solutions and scenography will allow making an attractive and exciting presentation. A main part of this interpretation is Culture of water – Culture of living in Mostar: Mostar, town with two rivers, Radobolja and Neretva; aqueduct was yet been constructed in the 16th century, with drinking fountains, shadrvan(s), hamam(s), so with the customs and tradition connected with water. By the individual chosen exhibit items from rich collections of Museum Herzegovina, a life of Mostar will be presented through historical times, with the subjects which belong to practical art (parts of folk costume, furniture) and a part of handicrafts in Mostar. The only interpretation will has got enough artistic elements connected with richness of the mentioned topics as they are literature, artistic and musical installations. Instruments of the exhibition are touch screen, video, video installations, panels, 3D images, multimedia board. Establishing of the Interpretation Centre, we believe that rich cultural habit of Mostar will be presented in respectable way.
