Summary/Abstract: The issue of standardization of the archival profession in Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the hardest questions for archival activity in this country. The fact is best evidenced by the absence of valid national standards on any area of archival work. One of the biggest difficulties in solving this problem lies in the administrative organization of the archival profession in the country (which is completely fragmented, decentralized) by which the expert rules are needed in order to make a special, particular level of government (state, entities, cantons). What is not good for archival work in the country is the absence of national standards for this area, and no by-laws that treat this question is no longer done on the application of international standards pertaining to these processes (ISAD(g), ISAAR(CPF), ISDIAH i ISDF). Although implementation of these standards is not limited only to information systems but their use is possible with traditional archival of information aids in Bosnia and Herzegovina and their application is unfortunately still insufficient, as a kind of course is a problem because the list made on the production of these standards will be prerequisite of building a unified information system. To avoid the problems that were encountered by our neighbors when using these standards, we should use their experiences, but above all the rules that are valid in entire country are to treat these issues in adequate manner.
