Summary/Abstract: Post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina is characterized by a worrying collapse of professional morality in education. There are frequent instances of children being separated apartheid-style, on a national basis, in school; of the ideological contamination of curricula, interventions, myths, sexual blackmail, the awarding of unrealistic marks, and so on. The findings of a study carried out during the 2004/2005 school year corroborate this. It should be borne in mind that the degradation of professional morality in the education system has long-term adverse social consequences. What is at stake here is not merely the intellectual and vocational aspect of education, but also the upbringing, the formation of the personality. For Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a multilateral community, this is an additionally important matter. The lack of awareness of the imperative need and social importance of reaffirming professional morality in education is therefore wholly unacceptable.
