Summary/Abstract: This paper investigates the way in which Demetrius Cantemir quotes Antonius Bonfinius‟ work, “Rerum Ungaricarum decades quatuor cum dimidia”. The analysis focuses mainly on the accuracy of quotations, but also touches upon other aspects such as source-mentioning and the edition used by Cantemir. The conclusions of this analysis will point out some characteristics of scientific writing in early modern Europe.
