Summary/Abstract: This paper starts from the premise that education and research are interrelated and, currently, the knowledge society is both the environment in which they engage as human activities and also the link between them. In this type of society, knowledge is considered a public good. For this reason, it was felt the need to find the most effective ways to ensure easy access of human individuals to the knowledge resulting from the process of Research, Development and Innovation. Thus, new eLearning type procedures and applications have been identified, including Web-based learning, computer-based learning, virtual classes and digital collaboration. They allow a greater access to knowledge despite geographic, economic, and cultural barriers.
