Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present the importance of simulators that are suitable to be used in ODL. Open Distance Learning Department as a provider of distance education uses GAME BASED LEARNING, as practical work in laboratories and other activities with students. In this way we can apply the concept “LEARNING BY DOING”, a progressive and innovative method for distance learning system. The current trend of teaching is focused on EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING, adding value to theoretical information. In this paper we will present Open Distance Learning Department’s experience with several educational applications used for this purpose, simulation of marketing, management and entrepreneurship, science. These simulators are used on an online platform developed by the producers of these applications. Using simulators, students are much engaged in learning process having a clear picture about transferring the theoretical knowledge into practical and self evaluation. In the same time, it seems to have a great impact on developing critical thinking and problem solving.
