Summary/Abstract: his study focuses on the migration phenomenon from the perspective of the influence and effects on the children whose parents work abroad, and has as starting point these children’s perceptions of the situation they find themselves in, irrespective of their wish. Special attention was paid to the analysis of migration dynamics and its effects on the family environment. For this reason we have chosen to comparatively analyze two samples of pupils attending schools and high schools from the municipality of Iaşi, and who were interviewed in 2006 and 2009 respectively. What were the main reasons of the parents’ migration during these years? How did the absence of the parents affect the children? What type of problems did they face? Who helped them solve these problems? These are some of the questions that are in fact a part of the present study.
