Current Situation, Dynamics, and Problems of Labour Market in Shumen Region

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses labour market in Shumen Region with the purpose to identify its peculiarities, dynamics and also the measures for improving its current situation. The changes that occur in the parameters of employment and unemployment for the period 1995-1999 are analysed on the basis of statistical information. The reasons for the tendency towards having less employed people are stated. Due to the specificity of the indices measuring unemployment, the registered individuals by social insurance, sex, age, profession, and education. In comparing supply and demand of labour force permanent vacancies remain stable. As a result of the increase of the unemployed and the drop in vacancies, the pressure upon labour market grows. By means of active and passive measures for regulation of employment and unemployment on a regional level the labour market politics is put into practice.
