Medieval Fortification in Dupljaja near Bela Crkva (Southern Banat)

Summary/Abstract: Grad near Dupljaja has long been known in archaeological literature as a prehistoric site. It was not until recently, thanks to the excavations which have been carried out since 2002, that it also became well known as a large medieval complex. The results of the previous excavations indicate that this site could be the largest archaeological site in the southern Banat, dated into the 11th and the first half of the 13th century.
