Summary/Abstract: The article is about an issue undescribed so far, namely silence as an inherent component of teaching. The author shows that, in addition to a silence which denotes ignorance, in the classroom there arises also a silence which conceals text adoration, admiration or just emerging reflection. This kind of silence can be multilaterally exploited in the teaching process.
