Summary/Abstract: This article aims to analyse and interpret the constitution of student subjectivity in discursive practices in university in the context of Foucauldian concepts of power technology and technology of the self. The author considers the participation in academic discourse as problematic. She builds her analysis on two cases of discursive practices in universities. The first case is a part of the official discourse, formalised and legalised, the second one illustrates the dangerous and embarrassing discourse which becomes silent when university’s policy is ambiguous. The author interprets the above cases as the practices of creating, transforming, and certain types of entities based on the Foucauldian concepts of technology of power and technology of the self: truth-telling, care for the self and confessional practices.
