Summary/Abstract: The situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the post-war period between 1996 -- 2006 in the education sector has been analysed. Despite many efforts by local and international experts and institutions for physical reconstruction and further development the fragmented subsystems could not attain any major results, but continued to lag behind the world trends and standards.
