Poland and space research

Summary/Abstract: The article looks at the scientific research and government activities in order to develop the space industry in Poland. The author begins with presenting the history of space research in Poland, its institutions, projects and accomplishments. Next, he examines the Polish aspirations for the development of aeronautics industry. Special attention is given to the establishment of the Polish Space Agency. This institution is tasked with supporting the aeronautics industry by eliminating barriers between business and science, and helping Polish entrepreneurs get funds from the European Space Agency.
