Polish Academy of Sciences Great Dictionary of Polish — present state and future

Summary/Abstract: The paper provides a short presentation of the newest general dictionary of the Polish language: Polish Academy of Sciences Great Dictionary of Polish (Wielki słownik języka polskiego PAN). The project is coordinated by the Institute of Polish Language at the Polish Academy of Sciences and carried out in collaboration with linguists and lexicographers from several other Polish academic centres. At the end of 2012 the first part of the dictionary containing about 15 000 entries will be available online. The author also gives some plans for the development of the dictionary in the future.
