On Love: Agape and Eros in the Thought of the 20th Century. A Focus on Anders Nygren

Summary/Abstract: The swedish theologian Anders Nygren emphasise the extreme opposition between the two terms: eros, who have philosophial nature, and agape, who means christian love/caritas. He developed a motif research method in order to argue this contrast. A. Nygren contest the christian use of eros by the greek Fathers of the Church. But for the Fathers, divine eros discribing God and his love is synonym with biblical agape (God is love/agape).
