HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA IN 2005

Summary/Abstract: Although a number of international organisations, such as the OSCE Mission in Croatia in its Status Report 17 on Croatia's progress in meeting international commitments of 10 November 2005 and the Human Rights Watch in its 2005 Annual Report, assessed that the state of human rights has improved in Croatia in 2005, such positive assessment cannot be made on the basis of the complaints addressed to NGOs dealing with the protection of human rights, notably the Croatian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights (CHC).
