Conditional Extremes of Functions of Several Variables and Some Applications in Economics

Summary/Abstract: One of the main issues dealt with by economics is the problem of optimization. Maximization of profit and benefit for individual or group, and minimization of cost and losses in a given situation and given conditions is simply finding the conditional extreme of the function of a few variables. The paper offers mathematical definition of conditional extreme, necessary and sufficient conditions doe the existence of conditional extreme, and some economic issues requiring the use of conditional extreme.
