The problems of the European Union 10 yearsafter the greatest enlargement

Summary/Abstract: 10 years after the biggest enlargement of the European Union, the community is not free from problems. The decline in the share of industry in GDP of the Union and the plans to stop this decrease by the newly created reindustrialization policy belong to the most serious ones. Another important problem is the declining competitiveness of the European economy and insufficient technical and scientific progress. Also fiscal issues adversely affect the functioning of the EU economy and, in particular, the individual Member States.
