Summary/Abstract: The novel entitled Sreća mladog Ljubovića by Husejn Đogo Dubravić, was first published as a serial in Novi Behar in 1933/34, fully in compliance with the then programme of the magazine which tried to serve as a platform for Bosniak writers of the first and second post-war generation, novelists who used local motifs in their writing. This genre was a new phenomenon in the renaissance of Bosniak writing and, at least when it comes to role-models in their own language, it had nothing to continue from or rely on. It is therefore clear that local oral tradition had to play an important role. The basis for the novel was the poem Svatovsko groblje na Morinama [The Wedding Partyís Burial at Morine]. Looking at the inter-textual level of the plot in the novel, it is easy to identify elements of the plot from the poem used as its basis. Along with the poem, the novel included traditional stories, proverbs, oaths and curses, parts of lyrical and epic poems, customs, popular beliefs, descriptions of traditional costume and weapons, etc. It also included the atmosphere and logic of traditional stories transmitted orally. Dubravić himself also carried the tradition but was also able to remember himself, or even live, parts of that tradition.
