Summary/Abstract: How citizens make their voting decision? Which criteria have the biggest influence on the voting decision? How political parties make their decisions during voting campaign? What is the role of ideologies in present politics? To answer these questions the political science produced a lot of theoretical models. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the economic method by explanation of the voting behaviour. The key hypothesis is based on use of the theory of rational choice, through which it explains great changes in the voting behaviour and the organization and activities of political parties in the 60s and the 70s of the 20th century.
