Summary/Abstract: The article is dealing with the phenomenon of pilgrimage based on comparative approach. In spite of differences between pilgrimage customs in Slovakia and Poland, caused e.g. by dissimilar history of both countries, we can also find parallels, resulting from the uniform teachings of the Church, but also from similar mechanisms of pilgrimage processes – irrespective of cultures and nations.
