Summary/Abstract: This is a survey of a number of studies by Romanian and Bulgarian researchers on the folklore of the Bulgarians who had migrated to Romania in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The author draws special attention to the soldiers’ songs created by Banat Bulgarians on the occasion of their service in the Austro-Hungarian army. Represented are also the folk songs of two Bulgarian villages situated not far from Bucharest.
